play and freedom

The time they spend together playing is what makes up their childhood.

the art of observation

Falling deeper in love with photography has subsequently led me to a deeper understanding of who I am, specifically as a mother.

I want my children to feel the invitation to play without judgement, without reserve. Mud, mess, expression, and every emotion they may feel.

I’m far from perfect at this. I want to control. But picking up the camera puts me in a perfect position to observe, not interrupt.

And then it becomes more about being present than the product of a photo.
